Aldi to Anchor New Mixed-Use Development in South Alexandria, VA

Washington, DC (January 23, 2018) Combined Properties, Incorporated is pleased to announce that ALDI has signed a lease for a 20,000 square foot grocery store, at South Alex®, a new mixed-use development located in Alexandria, Virginia. 

South Alex is a transit-oriented development that will feature 400 Class-A apartment units, nearly 23,000 square feet of small shop retail, and anchored by the 20,000 square foot ALDI.  The project is prominently located at the crossroads of N. Kings Highway and Route 1, providing great visibility and easy access to major highways.

The grocery store component was one of the critical elements to move the South Alex project forward. Combined Properties is working diligently with county municipal leaders to finalize the necessary approvals and permits for the project.  Combined Properties is now securing financing and expects to begin construction on the project in late-summer 2018.
